Education: Bachelor of Science from an ABET Accredited Program

Experience: 1+ years building HVAC and Plumbing Design

Professional: EIT; Passed FE Exam (or plan to take soon)

SUMMARY

As an integral member of Cyntergy’s mechanical team, the successful candidate will be expected to prioritize unique and valuable relationships with employees and clients by:

  • Lead within the mechanical team and represent our discipline both inside and outside of Cyntergy
  • Collaborate with directors, project managers, team members and other discipline leads on projects
  • Participate with director on personal, technical skill development
  • Initiate personal career development in cooperation with the director
  • Model active and constructive engagement in company culture and initiatives

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide HVAC & plumbing design of code-compliant HVAC & plumbing design documents.
  • Implement industry design standards for HVAC & plumbing in the building environment.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance collaborative reviews
  • Collaborate with director and senior engineers to provide HVAC & plumbing design concept guidance for building projects of varying complexity levels
  • Interact with clients, customers, building officials and contractors to meet project delivery requirements
  • Attend project meetings and and present specific aspects of engineering assignment, design or concept
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of the mechanical engineering scope of work
  • Participate in your personal Career, Skills & Performance (CSP) development in cooperation with director
  • Participate in client design milestone review meetings as part of the project delivery process
  • Receive guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria
  • Additional discipline-specific functions:  assist the mechanical team in creating and maintaining design standards, perform mechanical and plumbing code reviews and existing facility assessments, perform mechanical and plumbing design load calculations, perform construction site observations and write related reports
  • Periodic Functions: Same-day and / or Overnight Travel (car and air)

SKILLS

  • Ability to assist in designing a complete project, system,component, or process under the guidance of a senior mechanical engineer
  • Ability to assist in preparation of complete project documents
  • Ability to design and conduct mechanical engineering studies, and analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to formulate and solve problems by developing detailed work plans
  • General knowledge of principles and practices of HVAC & Plumbing fields, and ability to function
    on multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects
  • Working knowledge:  AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, MS Office Products
  • Knowledge in regards to building, energy, mechanical, plumbing and life-safety codes
  • Experience with Trane Trace or Carrier HAP HVAC load and energy analysis programs
