Hurtland 2015

The past weekend a new Tulsa Tough event came to town. Cyntergy Hurtland brought cyclists from across the nation to race in the new cyclocross event. Riders had to traverse steep hills, multiple sets of stairs, sharp switchback curves and many ravines that the course at historic Owen Park had to offer. Many bicycle enthusiasts braved the weather to cheer on the riders, and some even competed in the virgin category race for those new to the sport.

The weekend’s event began with The Disco Drome held at Cain’s Ballroom on Friday. A velodrome only 44 feet long, 25 feet wide and sharp banking curves provided riders fast and furious laps as two at a time rounded the track.

The excitingly new event was partnered with Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance and helped to raise over $5000 for Tulsa Children’s Museum.
