I love the challenge of being a part of a team solving difficult design problems. Whether it is a new structure that needs expertise to lead it through design and construction or an old building that needs creative spark to re-purpose it, I like problems. I am passionate about old buildings and the quality of design, craftsmanship and sustainability that they often involve. I really enjoy the forensic investigations that are required to re-purpose older buildings and find out their history.
Community networking is a passion of mine. My long involvement in the Tulsa Preservation Commission, the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture and my involvement in the historic neighborhood where I live shows that I love connecting and interacting with people. My work in an architectural firm started at age 16, so working with and connecting people in our industry is something I have enjoyed for a long time.
